Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. designs, develops and sells semiconductor networking solutions for communications applications such as converged VoIP and data, and broadband optical transmission in enterprise, access, metropolitan and wide area networks.
Mindspeed's products are used in a wide variety of network infrastructure equipment including voice and media gateways, high-speed routers, switches, access multiplexers, cross-connect systems, add-drop multiplexers and digital loop carrier equipment.
We are opening a position Software Tools Engineer for our Ukraine office

Key requirements:
o BSEE or BSCS or equivalent and at least five years experience in embedded software development; experience with state of the art development tools, including the GNU tools chain;
o proven skills in the strategic planning process, including strong project management and schedule development skills;
o good software engineering practices and skills;
o clear understanding of hardware/software interaction and a very good grasp of the test and qualification process;
o strong communication skills, experience dealing directly with customers, and ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of people;
o experience with TCL/TK, Perl and other scripting languages;
o experience with Unix programming (especially sockets), software build release process;
o experience with the following OS’s: Solaris, Linux, FreeBSD and VxWorks.
Key responsibilities:
Participate in the strategic planning and development of MSPD software tools. The tools are used to develop and test firmware applications that execute on Maker’s communications processor chip sets. The development tools are used internally by Maker to develop its own firmware and they are used by Maker’s customers to develop custom firmware applications that will run on the Maker chips.
